Reedy Industries Acquires Macon, Georgia’s Hamlin Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal

Growing HVAC, plumbing, and building controls platform expands mechanical service offerings, geographic footprint, and density with acquisitions.

DEERFIELD, Ill., July 12, 2021 – Reedy Industries, a leader in commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, and building controls services has acquired Hamlin Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal of Macon, Georgia. With this acquisition, Reedy Industries expands its services footprint in the Georgia region, maintaining a focus on meeting the needs of customers in the commercial, industrial, health care, education, government, and senior living market segments.

Founded in 1964, Hamlin has become one of central Georgia’s leading HVAC system and service contractors for military (DoD), commercial, and industrial customers. The company specializes in HVAC Design, mechanical installation, sheet metal fabrication, DDC systems, maintenance, and service work on building systems. Hamlin’s industry-leading team offers in-house fabrication, welding, and construction of custom HVAC systems. The company’s sheet metal shop is equipped with advanced machinery and tools, and its service department has earned long-standing loyalty from clients by helping them reduce maintenance costs, maintain comfort and process conditions, extend equipment life, and protect capital investments.

“We are honored to join the Reedy Industries family of companies,” says Kumar Ramaiya, president of Hamlin. “Both Reedy and Hamlin share a proud, decades-long heritage of putting employees and customers first. Reedy’s respect for our culture, our customer relationships, and the values that have made us successful have made for an ideal partnership. And their resources and expertise for accelerating our growth in the region will provide important opportunities for current and future employees and customers.”

“We are thrilled to expand Reedy’s presence in the Georgia market through our partnership with Kumar, Harry McGreggor, and the entire Hamlin team,” says Joe Kirmser, Reedy Industries CEO. “For five decades, Hamlin has earned an outstanding reputation as an industry-leading HVAC design and fabrication team with an expert eye for detail and a commitment to providing quality work. Our selection criteria for expanding the Reedy footprint nationally are extremely rigorous, and Hamlin came through with flying colors.”

Hamlin is the fourteenth acquisition for Reedy Industries since 2019. Kirmser added, “We only acquire companies with a proven track record of success. But all companies in our industry face challenges, including acute shortages of qualified HVAC technicians, retirement of experienced technicians, and significant fluctuations in business throughout the year. Reedy helps companies that join our organization overcome these challenges by providing the capital, expertise, training, and resources needed to exceed customer expectations and maintain market leadership. Hamlin is a welcome addition to the Reedy family and we look forward to building on their success and adding more density in the region through strategic add-on acquisitions.”

Kumar and Harry will both stay on with Hamlin in their current roles. “Having an experienced partner that understands our business,” says McGreggor, “will enable us to grow the company by focusing on what we do best.”
